Driving Directions

Using GPS:

Use Google Maps' link to take you to "1645 College Street, Macon, GA 31207."  Once you arrive at that street address, do the following:

  • At the stop sign directly in front of you on Prince St., turn left and drive into a large parking lot, which is where you'll park.
  • Tarver Library is a large brick building with a clock tower on top.  It will be located on the far right corner of the Stetson parking lot.
  • There is a pathway that leads between two buildings on the right side of the parking lot.  Follow it a short way until you come to the library on your right.  You will see a sign for Tarver Library over the main entrance.
  • Go through the first set of doors and buzz the archives at the call box to let us know you're here.  Someone will come and let you in through the locked second doors.
  • Mercer University's Archives and Special Collections are located on the third floor.  You can take the elevator or stairs up.  Either way, once you reach the third floor, you will take a left and then walk to the end of the room.  You have arrived.

Using street signs:

Take I-75N (if coming from southern GA) or take I-75S (if coming from northern GA).  If you're already in Macon, use I-16 and follow the signs to I-75 South.

  • Get off I-75 at Exit 163 (Mercer University Dr.).  From I-75S, you'll be turning left onto Mercer University Drive; from I-75N, you'll be turning right onto Mercer University Drive.
  • Travel to the second traffic light (College St.).
  • Turn left onto campus.
  • Drive down to the stop sign at Prince St. and turn left.  You will enter a large parking lot, which is where you'll need to park.

Parking

Mercer University parking lots are color-coded for students and employees.  However, this rule does not apply to visitors, who may park in these lots without a sticker.  Visitors may park anywhere that is an actual, legal parking spot (i.e. no sidewalks, loading zones, or yellow curbs).

Parking can be difficult to find at certain times of day, so we cannot guarantee that you will find a spot near Tarver Library.  If the Stetson parking lot by the library is full, you can try the parking lot at the other end of Prince St.  If that is also full, then you should check the campus map for other parking areas.
