Searching for Selected Topics

Searching with Subject Headers

Discovery search uses Library of Congress subject headings to organize and describe books and articles. To search using a subject heading, follow these steps:

  • Make sure to use the Advanced Search option
  • Click on the first line where it says "Any Field" and change it to "Subject"
  • Then click on the box to the right that says "contains" and change it to "is (exact)"
  • Finally, put in the subject heading you want to search in the box and click "SEARCH"
