Library Databases

Academic Search Complete (EBSCO)
Provides abstracts and indexing for over 3,800, as well as full text for over 3,200 scholarly journals and general magazines. This searches EBSCO's collection of databases, which includes a broad range of subjects including research on Classics and other topics from the Classical period.
JSTOR
This database provides access to complete back files of core journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences with coverage back to 1890. NOTE: JSTOR is primarily useful for locating older articles.
Arts & Humanities (ProQuest)
Includes hundreds of titles covering Art, Architecture, Design, History, Philosophy, Music, Literature, Theatre and Cultural Studies.
Research Library (ProQuest)
A general database providing access to scholarly journals and general magazines, many of which are available in full text.
Historical Abstracts (EBSCO)
Covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada) from 1450 to the present, including world history, military history, women's history, history of education, and more. While the majority of the resources available deal with modern history, the Classical time period is also included.
Philosopher's Index (EBSCO)
Covers multiple fields in Philosophy, including Ancient Philosophy and Classical Greek and Roman thinkers.
Religion & Philosophy Collection (EBSCO)
This collection includes nearly 300 full-text journals, with more than 250 peer-reviewed titles, covering topics in spiritual, ethical, philosophical, cultural, and historical aspects of the world's major denominations and religions. These include research on aspects of Classical society and culture.
Dissertations and Theses Full Text (ProQuest)
The database offers full-text for most of the dissertations added since 1997 and strong retrospective full text coverage for older graduate works. This database is not included in Discovery, and is a good resource when researching obscure topics or recent research developments.
Oxford Art Online
Provides online access to the entire text of the 34-volume Dictionary of Art plus newly-commissioned articles. The database includes over 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts from prehistory through the present. Through an alliance with The Bridgeman Art Library, the database offers access to over 130,000 searchable images.
